Best of Elmo – Top 6 Elmo Toys

My daughter’s fascination with Elmo has finally started subsiding. I am not sure what happened, but you know what they say about looking a gift horse in the mouth. Unfortunately, at the peak of her obsession I was diligently researching some fun Elmo toys to perhaps surprise her on her birthday/Christmas/Easter or whatever else was coming up. Even though I am no longer going to be making use of my research (until either she gets her Elmo kick back or Ducky takes it up), I am going to share my findings with you. Hopefully this helps you shop for your Elmo-crazed little one.
Sesame Street Let’s Rock Elmo

We love music in our house. We buy the kids toy drums, pianos, maracas, guitars, etc. So I thought this toy was perfect, combining some of the kids’ favorite things. And Elmo kind of looks cute. But I didn’t say that.

Sesame Street Elmo Plush

This one is one of my favorites because it is so simple. Elmo isn’t doing anything, but with a child’s imagination he can be doing anything. Your kid can play with him, snuggle him, taking him anywhere. I love the versatility.

Fisher Price Tickle Baby Elmo

Ok, I have to admit is kind of cute. And you can quote me on that. This Elmo is considered a collectible, so it can be high in price. But if you are just getting it for your kid to play with, I recommend a knock off.

Sesame Street Elmo’s Find and Learn Alphabet Blocks

I love instructional toys, so I was very glad (even though not surprised) that Fisher Price made an Elmo alphabet set. Even though Munchie has several alphabet/number sets, one more, especially in a favorite character, can’t hurt. I may still get this one even if she is no longer a huge Elmo fan.

Sesame Street Car Seat Cover

I thought this one would be great to lure her into the car. Um… that kind of sounded wrong. But seriously, sometimes she just doesn’t want to get in the car. This is really frustrating in the mornings. So I thought this may be a little incentive. Also, if it doesn’t work as planned, at least I would have an easily removable car seat cover as opposed to having Hubby take the car seat out every time and hosing it done in the back yard, making it so I can’t take the kids anywhere in my car for a few days while it dries. All sorts of problems just got solved.

Fisher Price Elmo Live

Ok, this one is a little pricey if you buy it new. So your kid has to be absolutely devoted to Elmo. But if you can spare it, it is a pretty cool toy. You can also get it used. I personally have no problem with that, but I know some people would. Yet I could not have a Best of Elmo list without at least mentioning Live Elmo.

Are there any I have missed? What other Elmo toys are out there?

4 Best Teething Toys On The Market

Ducky is teething. The poor little guy is in a lot of pain. He quacks and squawks all that he can to let us know how much he is not a fan of this new thing called teeth. I explain to him that they are awesome because once he gets them in we can expand his diet. But I am not sure he cares.
Munchie was not a huge fan of teeth either, but she was not quite as verbal about it. She was the silent brooding type. We have been experimenting with different teething rings and toys in an attempt to sooth him. After some extensive research, I have found the best teething toys on the market (even though Ducky could care less about the market and is only concerned with his sore gums).
Munchkin Fun Ice Soothing Ring Teether

I (and Ducky) love the teething toys you can stick in the freezer. The water inside turns to ice, and the cold is very soothing to tiny irritated gums. Munchkin makes a lot of fun looking products, and their teethers are no exception. The bright colors will make it more attractive to baby, enticing them to stick it in their mouths.
Razbaby Raz-Berry  Teethers
A baby at day care had one of these, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I talked to the kids’ mom, and she swore by it. It combines a pacifier with a teether, for fast and easy on the go soothing action.
Fisher Price Brillian Basics Little Glamour Gift Set
I wish I had gotten this for Munchie, but unfortunately that boat already sailed. It is great if you want your baby girl to look girly, but also practical for mommy. It contains all the basics of teething toys; it rattles, has groovy textures, bright colors, and it is solid enough to sooth those gums.
Disney Baby Pooh Teething Ring
It is a teether and a plushie. Plus, Pooh is featured, and you really can’t go wrong with that. What I liked best about this ring is the holders on the sides. These types of toys are great to improve dexterity and fine motor skills.

3 Must Haves On Your Christmas Shopping List

I am a meticulous shopper. I do all my research before buying anything, and I have put a lot of thought into my Christmas shopping list. The following three items are absolute must haves for this season… for a toddler. If you don’t have children, and are not planning on buying anything for anyone else’s children, then please feel free to read my other posts. They are very good. I promise.
If you are interested in shopping for small children, I guarantee the following three items are a crowd pleaser. Even if your crowd consists of itsy bitsy ones.
They help your toddler further develop their fine motor skills, and expand their imagination. And if you don’t mind finding duplo blocks all over your house, they will keep your toddler occupied for hours. Totally worth it.
It gives your toddler oodles of buttons to press. It is instructional. Best of all, it keeps your little one off of your laptop. Next time he/she reaches for yours, hand them their own. You will both be happy.
Your little one is getting to the age where they will see puppies and kitties and want a pet. This one is perfect. You don’t have to feed it. And walking is optional. If you already have a dog, this one is easy for your little one to walk, and it will play with him/her endlessly.
All of these products are affordable. Also, they make minimal amounts of noise (even the laptop is not terribly annoying). Happy shopping!
If you enjoyed this post, please feel free to read my other ones, they are all equally good. If you read this far, and did not care for this post, I swear this is the worst post I have ever written, so read others because they are much better.
